On his first album in seven years, cult icon Morrissey is at his best. After leaving The Smiths in the late 80s, Morrissey embarked on a solo career..... a solo career with both hits and misses. By the time he releases Maladjusted in 1997, it was evident that time off was needed. Maladjusted, along with 1995's Southpaw Grammar, seemed a little forced.
So Morrissey took some time off, and it paid off well. 2004's You Are the Quarry is his strongest album in well over a decade. His trademark irony and bluntness is back and stronger than ever, with songs like "All the Lazy Dykes" and "America Is Not the World". However, the best songs on the album are "I'm Not Sorry" and "Let Me Kiss You". These are two songs are Morrissey at his finest. Reviewer Rating of CD : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
