This is Kill Hannah's first cd for a major label. Some of the songs were written as many as eight years prior to this release, but most of the songs are no more then 3 years old.

Unfortunatly, for the longtime fans, a lot of people will put this up against their earlier recordings of the same songs, since they had already professionally recorded most of them. Most of them thankfully are superior to their proceeders.

The "hit maker" for the album is easily "Kennedy", though one can't help but feel a bit cheated if they've heard the early recording of it. It doesn't quite have the edge that the original did, but I've found that it does grow on you. At least, it did for me. I must admit that I hated this version of the song, but now I love it. However, if you havn't already heard the earlier version of the song, you should have no problem loving this one. This is the first single from the album, as it was planned long before the album even came out.

A great thing about this album is that it works as a whole. There isn't any filler on here. It's all killer material. My favorite cut on this cd is "No One Dreams Anyway", which was originally on their very first independent cd entitled "Hummingbirds the Size of Bullets". It's very different sounding from that version, but I absolutely can't get enough of it.

They really have quite a unique sound then anything being played on the radio, and I highly reccomend this cd to anyone and everyone. If you're a Pumpkins fan, there's a famous quote floating around there that Billy Corgan said about this band: "They are the future of Chicago rock."

And for those of you longtime fans who were disapointed that this doesn't sound like "American Jet Set" and others, be on the lookout for a cd set with their earlier independent work.
