| The album that started it all....... unfortunately.
On their major label debut, the Dave Matthews Band released 12 shitty tracks that you will hear over and over and over if you visit any college campus. There must be some sort of drug in the album packaging that tricks college students into thinking this is actually a good album. Don't buy this shit. Reviewer Rating of CD : ![]() | |

| I must disagree with the review by Amazing Disgrace.
This is an amazing album from the Dave Matthews Band, from start to finish. I honestly can't believe how people can under rate this band. They have a lot of talent, and they're one of those bands that you HAVE to see live. This album starts out with the song "The Best of What's Around", which is one of my absolute favorite songs from them. "Hey my friend, it seems your eyes are troubled. Care to share your time wtih me? Would you say you're feeling low, and so a good idea would be to get it off your mind. See you and me have a better time then most can dream. Have it better than the best. So can pull us through, whatever tears at us, whatever holds us down, and if nothing can be done we'll make the best of what's around." That is how the album starts off, and I love those lyrics. Very uplifting, and doesn't make you want to kill yourself like much of the music out there. I will admit that "Ants Marching" is played a little to death...but I still like the song. "Satellite" is also played way too much, and maybe "What would you say". But put those aside and listen to tracks like "Rhyme and Reason" and "Jimi Thing", which are great rock songs. Honestly, give this band a chance, and pay no attention to the crap you hear from others. Decide for yourself...but they come highly reccomended from me.
