| i am not gay. i just want that to be known. i am reviewing an elton john album, and i am not gay. i enjoy this elton john album and i am not gay. in fact i'd say it's the ultimate glam album in many ways and i don't even like glam that much and i'm not gay.
the album is the ULTIMATE glam album for tons of reasons. one, elton john has tons more melodic sense than any other glam musician of that period. david bowie for instance. he was pretty hit and miss (and miss again). but he did experiment a lot, poor elton didn't really do much of that. plus he's sucked for 20 years... another reason it's the ultimate glam album is because it's so glitzy and highly produced. a glam trademark. oh yeah and it's like the fucking whit ealbum. so many styles are done, and it doesn't really hold together well. its' schiophrenic. beautiful ballads sit next to "bennie and the jets" weird keyboard experiments ala grey seal, folk songs about roy rogers (!) and the opening progressive rock instrumental/song "funeral for a friend/loves lies bleeding" (which is a really good progressive composition, in my opinion). WAY too many songs to talk about (i'm not doing what i did in the white album review, and talk about all the songs). needless to say, it's a good album. a great album. THE ULTIMATE GLAM ALBUM. if the only songs you heard by SIR elton are "candle in the wind (diane version" and the disney crap you might even like him after hearing this. doy.
