| Amnesiac is one of Radiohead's more recent albums. On a flight to California this CD was playing over the airline radio and I got a chance to listen to it several times on the 5+ hour flight.
Radiohead has evolved alot since their early CD's like Pablo Honey. They are much more mellow and their songs sound totally different. I liked their older stuff, but I like their new sound too. One if my favorite songs off of Amenesiac is Pyramid Song. It's a slow song with long piano lines and an almost dream-like aura about it. This is a very dark CD. | an excellent album, and a very clean transition from the experimental side of its sister KidA to a more calm yet moody hail to the theif.
songs like 'you and whose army?' and 'i might be wrong' carry the radiohead style and few will dislike them. Other songs like 'pulk/pull' are far more experimental yet extremely good and the symphony of sound techiques are pulled off very well with little flaws. the strongest allie for this album is the fact that the experimental nature is very accomplished and truly amazing - some may think this album isnt quite there and more quality material should be put in - but this album was only released a year after kidA- and these people do not truly know radiohead and what they stand for. In conc. This album is very much worth having as it has some of the bands best material and also some truly excellent experimental stuff on. | recorded at the same time as Kid A, this album is just as experimental but in a darker creepier way… where Kid A was supposedly a concept album about the first human clone (designed to consume!!!) Amnesiac is about all the things that we forget in the hustle and bustle of our empty routine lives… it’s even less accessible than Kid A and is (presumably) intentionally much less cohesive just to throw off the idea that this is a sequel to the much more cohesive Kid A… it’s a difficult listen, but very rewarding Reviewer Rating of CD : | |
