| On their third album, Fear, Southern California alternative folk rockers Toad the Wet Sprocket had their commerical breakthrough with the hits "Walk on the Ocean" and "All I Want". Add these two hits to ten more haunting tales of love, loneliness, and everything in between and you've got Fear.
Stand-out tracks on the album include "Pray Your Gods" with its quiet acoustic guitar picking and amazing vocal arrangements, "Is It For Me" and its storybook tale of a group of friends and their adventures in a haunted house on a hill, "I Will Not Take These Things for Granted" and its self introspection, and "Hold Her Down", an anti-rape anthem that gets its point across without being preachy. This is a great album for lonely nights when you want to be swept away into a land of stories and songs. Reviewer Rating of CD : ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
