| Well, if you don't know what this is don't worry: it's not even legal to buy any more. BUT i bought it when it was for that like two week period so i got it. What is it exactly?
Well, Plunderphonics is the idea of taking a song, and deconstructing it using samples, loops, and uh other things to make it sound really werid and stupid. The liner notes to this thing are fascinating as John Oswald goes into depth about how he created every track. What it all boils down to is that it all sounds the same. But it's not a bad song, I suppose. There are some highlights, in general the faster weirder songs. The slow songs generally aren't that much changed or that interesting. The stand out for me is the doors deconstruction because it really massacres jim. But other than that?... There's one cd with songs that are "Songs" and you can hear singing. Another disc of "Tunes" where there's no singing. Disc two sounds all like one big long modern classical piece, and disc one sounds like crap I've done on my sound recorder in about half an hour. Still, I do like it, but it's really hard to find, and really expensive, so I can't really recomend it to casual viewers. only for hard core avant guardists.
